ADOPT Resolution No. 2012/340 for the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors to grant formal recognition to
the Physicians' & Dentists' Organization of Contra Costa (PDOC) in regard to the classification of Exempt Medical
Staff Optometrist (VPS1).
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no cost associated with this action.
BACKGROUND:
Physicians' & Dentists' Organization of Contra Costa (PDOC) was granted informal recognition to represent the
Exempt Medical Staff Optometrist (VPS1) class on February 28, 2012 by Resolution 2012/69. The Director of
Human Resources has reviewed the request and determined the petition to be in conformance with the requirements of
the County’s Employer-Employee Relations Resolution No.81/1165 (EERR), Chapter 34-12, and Section 34-12.002.
The Director of Human Resources is also recommending formal recognition associated with the determination of
appropriate unit as required under section 34-12.006 and 34-12.008. Majority representation under EERR Section
34-12.014 has been verified.
