Subject:Correct Effective Date for P300 #21118: Reallocate the classification of the Undersheriff (6XB4) and Assistant
Sheriff (6XB2) on the Salary Schedule
BACKGROUND:
On July 31, 2012 (Item SD.4), the Board of Supervisors approved Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21118,
which reallocated on the Salary Schedule the Sheriff's Office classifications of Undersheriff-Exempt and
Assistant Sheriff - Exempt effective August 1, 2012. It was our intent to make this action effective with the start
of the fiscal year on July 1, 2012. However, the "Day following Board Action" box was inadvertently checked on
the authorizing resolution, fixing the effective date as August 1.
Today's action would rectify that error and set the effective date as July 1, 2012.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the recommendation is not approved, the four affected employees will lose one month of their salary increase.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact.
