In addition to providing support to the CalWIN system, the Division also supports the Department's document imaging system currently known as CaseStar. The imaging system will undergo a major redesign, conversion, training and implementation process as we move to a new imaging solution with a new vendor. In a review of staffing it has been determined that a new position is required to meet the critical need to support adequately and effectively the implementation of changes in the Department's imaging systems. CalWIN is a client-based, on-line, real-time update, automated eligibility determination, benefit calculatin, and management system that suports the adminsitration of public assistance programs including CalWORKS, Food Stamps, MediCal, General Assistance, Foster Care, and case management functions for Employment Services. To meet the State and Federal mandates it is critical to have a document imaging filing and retrieval system that is user friendly and manageable. The person selected for this position will perform systems functions that include systems and business analysis, project management participation in the development, implementation, maintenance, and procurement of systems; translation of business requirements into technical specifications and compliance with Consortium and State system governance requirements. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If a Senior Social Service Information System Analyst position is not added the Department will have insufficient system staff to implement changes critical to providing accurate and effective public assistant services to our clients. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: No impact. ATTACHMENTS P-300 #21124
