HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08142012 - SD.1 SD.1 Board of Supervisors Contra Costa County Date: August 14 2012 Public Comment The following people spoke on the matter of the contract imposition adopted on 7/31/ 2012 that included salary cuts and benefit changes: Dean Click, former resident of Contra Costa; Susan Click, former resident of Contra Costa; Chris Walpole, District Attorneys Office; Kevin Bell, District Attorneys Office; Colleen Gleason, District Attorneys Office; Satish Jallepalli, District Attorneys Office; Danielle Douglas; District Attorneys Office; Mary Knox, CCC District Attorneys' Association (handout attached); Phyllis Redmond, District Attorney's Office; Bill Schilz, resident of Martinez; The following people spoke on difficulties in the implementation of the new CCC medical record system (EPICS) in the correctional field workplaces; Jerry Fillingim, California Nurses Association (CNA); Laurie Easley, R.N., California Nurses Association; LeeAnn Fagan, R.N. ; Michael Kellog, Local One, on the hardships of public employee's from budget cuts, encouraging the Board to do everything it can to find greater efficiencies in the workplace to save money; Bennie M. Daniels, spoke on her dissatifaction with the court decision regarding her case against the Delta View apartment property in Antioch. Chair Piepho noted that the Board does not have jurisdiction in court matters. Margaret Harris, Local 2700, spoke on better use of county resources instead of cutting employee pay; Rollie Katz, Public Employee's Union, Local One, spoke on the impacts of pay cuts on the employees; Betty DeFond, spoke on the difficulty of the pay cuts and the need of herself and many others to find employment elsewhere to meet financial necessities.
