Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21126 to add one Health Plan Authorization Representative (VRTA)
position at salary level 3RX 1119 ($3138.41 - 4007.88) and add one Health Plan Member Services Counselor
position (V9VE) at salary level QT5 1182 ($3349.08 - 4070.83) in the Health Services Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $172,806, including pension costs of
$35,388, and will be fully funded with health plan member premiums.
BACKGROUND:
These new positions are needed to address workload issues due to the continuing increase in the number of Contra
Costa Health Plan members. The Health Plan Authorization Representative position will be assigned to the
Authorizations Unit and is needed to process referral and authorization requests. The Health Plan Member Services
Counselor will be assigned to the Member Services Unit and is needed to address the increasing number of member
calls, grievances, and appeals.
