FISCAL IMPACT: Not to exceed $180,000; 10% County, 45% State; 45% Federal. BACKGROUND: The Employment and Human Services Department requires a data specialist to extract, analyze, reconcile, report, and utilize data from multiple systems to meet County business needs. Responsibilities include collaborating with a variety of staff to validate data, clarify business objectives and program regulations, and develop dynamic custom reports, business processes, and technical solutions. Examples include meeting CalWORKs Work Participation Rate requirements, utilizing State (E2Lite system) and Consortium (CalWIN system) data and transferring the data into a separate database for transfer to staff, and matching State (Child Welfare System/Case Management System) and Consortium (CalWIN system) data to increase federal benefits for foster care children. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: County business needs would not be met without data specialist expertise to extract, analyze, reconcile, report, and utilize data from multiple systems.
