HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07242012 - C.75RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract with Precision Paint &
Collision, in an amount not to exceed $600,000, for automotive body damage repair and related mechanical repair
work for the period June 1, 2012 through May 30, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost of collision repair and automotive body repair is included in the Fleet ISF budget.
BACKGROUND:
Fleet Management maintains all county vehicles, and part of this maintenance is vehicle accident repair and painting.
Various reasons exist for vehicle body repair and painting, from damage caused by collisions to deterioration.
Painting is also required in cases where the vehicle color changes, such as the Sheriff’s project which is changing
vehicles color from white cars to black and white. Originally bid as Bidsync #1005-002, Precision Paint & Collision
is our primary auto body repair shop awarded this type of work.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this request is not approved, vehicles needing collision and automotive body repair will not be repaired.
