HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07242012 - C.62RECOMMENDATION(S): Ratify, on behalf of the County, a Facilities Use Agreement with the City of Brentwood, including a Hold Harmless Agreement indemnifying the City, for the use of the Brentwood Community Center, 193 Griffith Lane, Brentwood, California as a Senior Nutrition Program Café, Monday-Friday, except for major County and/or City holidays, for the period from July 1, 2012, though June 30, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: None. The City of Brentwood provides the facility free of charge to the County. BACKGROUND: The facility will be used on an ongoing basis to provide daily nutritious noon meal to approximately 45 Senior Citizens, 60 years and older, five days per week under the federal and state Elderly Nutrition Program and to stage four Meals on Wheels to the Brentwood area. The Facilities Use Agreement (Agreement) was signed on May 1, 2012 by the Senior Nutrition Program Manager. The Agreement includes a provision by which County agrees to indemnify City for claims arising out of or related to the County’s use of City’s facility. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this Agreement is not ratified, the County will not be able to use the City's facility free of charge to provide nutritious meals to approximately 45 Senior Citizens, five days per week, in the Brentwood area. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
