Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-515-10 with Virtual Radiologic Professionals of California, P.A., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed
$400,000, to provide teleradiology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health
Centers, for the period from August 1, 2012 through July 31, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. Rates have decreased.
BACKGROUND:
On May 25, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-515-7 (as amended by Extension Agreement
#26-515-9) with Nighthawk Radiology Services LLC (now known as Virtual Radiologic Professionals of California,
P.A.), for the period from March 1, 2005 through July 31, 2012, for the provision of teleradiology services at Contra
Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00am, Monday
though Sunday.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Approval of Contract #26-515-10 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide teleradiology services, through
July 31, 2014.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, Contractor will not be able to continue to provide teleradiology services at Contra
Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers. Contractor has been selected due to online order
entry, lower rates and rapid turn around times.
