Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21127to increase the hours of Mental Health Clinical Specialist position
#14655 from 20/40 to 40/40 in the Health Services Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $56,740, including pension costs of $13,702,
and will be fully funded by monies from the Mental Health Services Act.
BACKGROUND:
The position is assigned to the Perinatal Depression Project, a joint project between Public Health and Behavioral
Health. Duties of the position include: providing psycho-therapeutic intervention, treatment and mental health
services to clients; providing individual and group therapy; preparing social case histories; and coordinating treatment
and rehabilitation plans. There is currently a waiting list with 200 women on it and the these additional hours are
needed to address the workload.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved, Mental Health services to clients may be adversely affected.
