HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07312012 - C.02RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Public Works Department, to execute a Purchase Order with Altec Industries, in an amount not to exceed $150,000, for the purchase of a 2012 Ford F-750XL Bucket Truck with a Chip Box for Public Works Maintenance to safely perform overhead tree trimming, Countywide. (100% Local Road Funds) FISCAL IMPACT: 100% funded by local road funds. Capital Equipment replacement and acquisition 0672 (Fund 110800). BACKGROUND: This vehicle is a new addition to the Public Works Road Fleet. This forestry truck will be used in the performance of trimming trees in the Road and Flood Control Rights of Way. This will allow Public Works to be more responsive and efficient when dealing with tree related hazards. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Inability to efficiently and effectively trim trees that pose a hazard to the public within the public right of way.
