ATTESTED: June 26, 2012 David Twa, County Administrator and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors By: June McHuen, Deputy cc: Auditor-Controller, Steve Harris, Ramesh Kanzaria C.143 To:Board of Supervisors From:Julia R. Bueren, Public Works Director/Chief Engineer Date:June 26, 2012 Contra Costa County Subject:APPROVE Notice of Intention to Purchase Real Property located at 211 C Street, Martinez, APN 372-191-011. Project No. 3101 (HS6971-4558) BACKGROUND: Adequate parking is a perennial problem for CCRMC staff and patients. Even with the additional parking currently being constructed, there will not be sufficient spaces for the anticipated service expansions. The owner of 211 C Street has proposed to sell the property, adjacent to the CCRMC, as a finished parking lot which will contain approximately 23 parking spaces. The proposed project has been determined to be financially feasible and our recommendation is to acquire the property to help resolve the parking problem. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The County will not have the necessary land rights to allow construction of a parking lot adjacent to CCRMC. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not Applicable.
