1. APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to continue the departmental employee service
awards program.
2. APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Sheriff-Coroner, to amend a purchase order
with O.C. Tanner Company, to increase the payment limit by $25,000 to a new payment limit of $50,000, and extend
the termination date to 06/30/2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$25,000, 100% General Fund.
BACKGROUND:
The Office of the Sheriff has a long standing employee service awards program, which recognizes employees for
their years of service with the Office. Employees reaching milestones of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years of
service within the calendar quarter are recognized for their dedication by receiving an award from the
Sheriff-Coroner. In addition, most employees (civilian and sworn) receive a Sheriff's badge lapel pin. An additional
$25,000 and extension through 06/30/2014 with O.C. Tanner Company is needed to ensure upcoming employees
continue to be recognized for their service years.
