HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06262012 - C.118RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute Purchase Order with Decade Software Company LLC, in an amount not to exceed $108,444, to purchase for software and license for the Envision Data System for the Enviromental Health and Hazardous Materials Divisions, for the period from May 1, 2012 through April 30, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: Budgeted through Environmental Health and the Hazardous Materials Programs and paid for by regulatory fees. BACKGROUND: Environmental Health has purchased the License and Support from Decade Software for their Envision data management system program since 2002. This data management system allows Environmental Health to keep track of all of the regulatory activity that is required to oversee restaurants and other food businesses, solid waste facilities, pools, septic systems, body art, medical waste, and small water systems. This data management system is needed to be able to exchange data electronically required information to CalEPA. This purchase of the License and Support from Decade Software will allow the Hazardous Materials Programs and the Environmental Health Division to continue to manage all of the information that is needed to regulated the businesses in Contra Costa County. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this purchase is not approved, the Environmental Health and Hazardous Materials Programs will be unable to manage their data affectively and the Hazardous Materials Programs will be unable to exchange data with CalEPA as required by the Health and Safety Code.
