Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-817-34 with East Bay Nephrology Group, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $156,000, to provide
professional nephrology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the
period from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. Cost to the County depends upon utilization. As appropriate,
patients and/or third party payors will be billed for services. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On June 16, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-817-32 (as amended by Amendment Agreement
#26-817-33) with East Bay Nephrology Medical Group, Inc., to provide nephrology services, including consultation,
training, on-call and medical procedures, to patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa
Health Centers, for the period from July

Approval of Contract #26-817-34 will allow the Contractor to continue providing nephrology services for Contra
Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers through June 30, 2015.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, patients requiring these medical services at Contra Costa Regional Medical and
Contra Costa Health Centers would have longer wait times and possibly go untreated.
