Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #26-654-6 with Bay Area Tumor Institute, a non-profit corporation, effective April 1, 2012,
to amend Contract #26-654-3 (as amended by #26-654-5), to increase the payment limit by $150,000, from $500,000
to a new payment limit of $650,000, with no change in the original term of August 1, 2011 through July 31, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This is a contingency fee contract. Contractor receives a percentage of the amount it collects on behalf of the County.
BACKGROUND:
On September 14, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-654-3 (as amended by Amendment
Agreement #26-654-5) with Bay Area Tumor Institute, for the period from August 1, 2011 through July 31, 2012, for
the provision of pharmaceutical drug recovery reimbursement services of products provided to indigent or unfunded
patients.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-654-6 will allow the Contractor to be paid for providing
additional pharmaceutical drug recovery services, through July 31, 2012.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, Contractor will not be able to provide additional pharmaceutical drug recovery
services on behalf of the Department.
