HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06262012 - C.44RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE Appropriations Adjustment No. 5076 authorizing the transfer of appropriations in the amount of $217,615 from the Sheriff Plant Acquisition Fund (0111) to be distributed as follows: $156,805 to General Services - ISF Fleet Services (0064) for the purchase of four Ford Escape Utility Vehicles and equipment and $60,810 to the Sheriff Patrol Division for the purchase of radio equipment for the vehicles. FISCAL IMPACT: This action increases appropriations in General Services - ISF Fleet Services (0064) by $156,805 and Sheriff's Office (0255) by $60,810 and reduces appropriations in the Office of the Sheriff Plant Aquisition Fund (0111) by $217,615. BACKGROUND: The Sheriff's Office is embarking on a new endeavor to provide additional support at the Patrol Station House level in the form of Sheriff's Rangers. These employees will support Patrol Staff and the community by performing those functions that do not require the assignment of a Deputy Sheriff, as needed, to accomplish patrol duties effectively and economically. The purchase will be funded by Kinder Morgan settlement money, which was awarded to the Sheriff's Office in 2007. The funds were deposited into the Sheriff Plant Acquisition Fund.
