HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06052012 - C.88RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-967-14 with Thomas J. McDonald, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $454,000, for the provision of professional ophthalmology services for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from June 1, 2012 through May 31, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise I Budget. Cost to the County depends upon utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or third party payors will be billed for services. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: On May 17, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-967-12 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-967-13) with Thomas J. Approval of Contract #26-967-14 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide ophthalmology services to patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, through May 31, 2013. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, patients requiring these medical services at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers would have longer wait times and possibly go untreated. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
