HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06052012 - C.87RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-347-20 with Cross Country Staffing, Inc. (formerly MedStaff, Inc.), a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $250,000, to provide temporary nursing, therapy, radiology and pharmacy services for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from May 1, 2012 through April 30, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise I Funds. No rate increase. BACKGROUND: On May 24, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-347-18 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-347-19) with MedStaff, Inc. (dba Medstaff Healthcare Solutions), for the period from May 1, 2011 through April 30, 2012, for the provision of temporary help nursing, therapy, radiology and pharmacy services for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers. Medstaff, Inc. is now an owned subsidiary of Cross Country Staffing, Inc. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Approval of Contract #26-347-20 will allow Cross Country Staffing, Inc., to provide temporary staffing services, through April 30, 2013. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers would not have appropriate medical coverage during temporary staff absences, therefore patients would go untreated.
