HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06052012 - C.79RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #24-794-7(14) with St. Helena Hospital, a non-profit corporation, effective March 1, 2012, to amend Contract #24-794-7(13), to increase the payment limit by $250,000, from $250,000 to a new payment limit of $500,000, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% fee for service Medi-Cal. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: Assembly Bill (AB) 757, (Chapter 633, Statutes of 1994), authorized the transfer of state funding for Fee-For-Service/Medi-Cal (FFS/MC) acute psychiatric inpatient hospital services from the Department of Health Services to the Department of Mental Health (DMH). On January 10, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24-794-7(13) with St. Helena Hospital for the period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012, for the provision of inpatient psychiatric hospital services to County-referred patients, under FFS/MC funding. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #24-794-7(14) will allow the Contractor to provide additional services through June 30, 2012. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, additional inpatient psychiatric services will be limited to this population. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: NOT APPLICABLE.
