APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Interim Director, or designee, to execute
contract amendments with Mt. Diablo Adult School (MDAS) to extend the contract term from June 30, 2012 to
September 30, 2012 for outreach and training of California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids
(CalWORKs) clients with no change in the payment limit as set forth below and authorize a mutual indemnification
clause in both contracts.

FISCAL IMPACT:
$112,965: 100% CalWORKs Single Allocation funds
BACKGROUND:
The amendments will extend current contracts until September 30, 2012 to allow the full contract amount to be
expended.
Contracts were issued to Mt. Diablo Adult Education to provide community outreach and training to CalWORKs
clients. Mt. Diablo Adult Education requires mutual indemnification. Therefore, this Board Order serves to receive
board approval for these contracts to be written with mutual indemnification clauses.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Employment and Human Services Department will be unable to provide these services to CalWORKs clients.
