APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Interim Director, or designee, to execute a
contract with Child Abuse Prevention Council in an amount not to exceed $559,412 to provide child abuse prevention
services for the period July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
559,411: 38% Federal, 37% State, 25% County. (Programs are broken down by funding component: Overall 4%
Promoting Safe and Stable Families, CFDA #93.556; 22% Comprehensive Family Assessment for Positive Family
Outcomes, CFDA #93.670; 41% Substance Abuse/HIV, CFDA# 93.658; 14% Community Care Licensing, Foster
Homes, CFDA #93.658; 8% Keller Canyon, 4% CWS State Redesign, 7% State Family Preservation).

Subject:Approve Contract with Child Abuse Prevention Council for Child Abuse Prevention Services
BACKGROUND:
Contractor will direct and coordinate ongoing activities aimed at mobilizing community resources and educating
professionals and citizens to reduce the incidents of child abuse.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Valuable services to prevent child abuse will not be provided.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This contract supports all of the community outcomes established in the Children’s Report Card: 1) “Children Ready
for and Succeeding in School”; 2) “Children and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood”; 3)
“Families that are Economically Self Sufficient”; 4) “Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing”; and 5)
“Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families,” by providing services to
prevent child abuse and thus maintain the family.
