APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute a purchase order amendment with
Metropolitan Van & Storage to increase the payment limit by $113,000 to a new payment limit of $212,000 for
moving Department of Conservation & Development into 30 Muir Road.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This cost is to be funded through DCD FY2011/12 budgets. 100% Land Development Fund.
BACKGROUND:
Department of Conservation & Development moved from 651 Pine Street, 222 Glacier Drive, and 2530 Arnold Drive
into 30 Muir Road. As bid on Bidsync #1003-008, three vendors were awarded our sublet moving services. In
November these three were invited to bid on the DCD move. Metropolitan Van & Storage was awarded this work
through this bid. The estimate was originally thought to be approximately $54,000 for the competitive scope of work.
For bidding purposed, the original scope of work only covered a portion of the actual work to be done. To complete

four phases of the job, the cost increased to a new payment limit of $212,000. Once paid, this project will be
considered complete.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this request is not approved, the move of DCD staff into 30 Muir Road will not be closed out and Metropolitan
Van and Storage will not be paid for services rendered.
