ATTESTED: June 5, 2012 David Twa, County Administrator and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors By: Carrie Del Bonta, Deputy cc: C. 54 To:Board of Supervisors From:Philip F. Kader, County Probation Officer Date:June 5, 2012 Contra Costa County Subject:Juvenile Accountability Block Grant (JABG) for FY 2012/2013 BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Streets Act. The total allocation of $3,234,248 to the State is to enable units of local government to promote greater accountability of juvenile offenders in the Juvenile Justice System. Contra Costa County's portion of the allocation is $73,460. It is the intent of the Probation Department to utilize the JABG funding toward the continuation of collaborative efforts of the East County Juvenile Drug Court program, and would partially fund one (1) Deputy Probation Officer and one (1) Probation Supervisor position. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Absent this Federal funding, the County would suffer a reduction in deliquency prevention services for youth with substance abuse issues in Contra Costa County.
