Subject:Appropriation adjustment authorizing the transfer of released accumulated depreciation from fund balance
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
designate"depreciation expense" for future vehicle replacement costs. The General Services Department has
approved the transfer and has transferred the accumulated depreciation expense for certain vehicles into the Land
Development Fund which supports most DCD operations. Since the funding for the vehicles came from DCD's
Building Inspection Division, the appropriation adjustment reflects the proposed appropriation of these funds from
the Land Development Fund to the Building Inspection Division (org 2661) where the funds will be used to offset
current year expenses.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If appropriations are not transferred, the Building Inspection Division would not be able to use the funds to offset
FY 2011-12 expenditures.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
Not applicable.
