HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07102012 - C.71RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #72-039 with West Contra Costa County Meals on Wheels, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $20,724, to provide home-delivered meals for the Senior Nutrition Program, for the period from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013. This Contract includes a three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2013, in an amount not to exceed $5,069. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 51% by Title III-C (2) of the Older Americans Act of 1965 and 49% AIDS Medi-Cal Waiver funds. BACKGROUND: This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing home-delivered meals on 250 serving days, to an average of 405 senior citizens and County residents living with HIV/AIDS, to ensure they receive at least one third of their daily nutritional requirements. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, West County’s homebound senior citizens and HIV/AIDS patients will not receive meals which provide at least one third of their daily nutrition.
