HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07102012 - C.63RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-585-4 with L. Evan Custer, M.D., a self-employed individual, effective June 1, 2012, to amend Contract #26-585-3, to increase the total Payment Limit by $30,000 from $577,500 to a new total payment limit of $607,500 with no change in the original term of December 1, 2009 through November 30, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: 100% Enterprise Fund I. Cost to the County depends upon utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or third party payors will be billed for services. No rate increase. BACKGROUND: On December 8, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-585-3 with L. Evan Custer, M.D. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Center and Contra Costa Health Centers including, but not limited to, consultation, on-call coverage services, supervision and interpretation of CT Scan, MRI, Ultrasound, invasive procedures and plain films, for the period from December 1, 2009 through November 30, 2012. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-585-4 will allow the Contractor to provide additional Radiology services when other radiologists are unavailable or unwilling to work shifts at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers through November 30, 2012. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, patients requiring these medical services at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers would have longer wait times and possibly go untreated. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
