HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07102012 - C.48RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the District Attorney, or designee, to execute a contract with two (2) law schools, including full indemnification of each university, in an amount not to exceed $5,000 for stipends for students participating in the District Attorney's office summer training program for the period June 1, 2012 through August 20, 2012. The participating universities include: The University of Indiana, School of Law and Chapman University, School of Law. FISCAL IMPACT: The compensation of the law students is divided equally between the law schools and Contra Costa County. The County's cost will not exceed $5,000 and will be funded from the department's General Fund allocation. BACKGROUND: The District Attorney wishes to present a summer training program for students having completed their second year of law school. The county will pay only a $2000 summer stipend for each participating student.
