HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07102012 - C.11RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE the Buchanan Field Airport 1L-19R Rehabilitation project contingency fund increase of $285,819 for a new contingency fund total of $571,638, and a new payment limit of $3,429,828 effective July 10, 2012; and APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute Contract Change Order No. 5 with Ghilotti Bros., Inc., effective July 10, 2012, in an amount of approximately $314,000 to allow additional payment for certain items of work involving additional Cold-In-Place Recycling (CIR) asphalt paving due to greater than expected sub-base failures found during the initial surface grinding of Runway1L/19R, Concord area. (90% Federal AIP Funds and 10% Airport Enterprise Funds) Project No. 4855-4690-SAS-6X5381 FISCAL IMPACT: The $285,819 increase in contingency funds will be funded by FAA AIP Funds (90%) and Airport Enterprise Funds (10%). BACKGROUND: The contingency fund increase is necessary to compensate the contractor for unforeseen extra work necessary for the construction of the project.
