RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Interim Director to submit a rate change request to the State of California to
adjust In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority provider wages from $11.50 to $11.48 per hour, effective July 1, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Decrease in In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority provider wages by 2 cents per hour from $11.50 to $11.48 per hour.
BACKGROUND:
The Memorandum of Understanding between Public Authority and SEIU-UHW states that in the event that the Service Employees International Union
National Industry Pension Fund imposes any increased surcharges upon the Public Authority, the parties agree that the wages of the providers will be
reduced to offset the total cost of any and all surcharges.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Contra Costa County would not be in compliance with the Memorandum of Understanding between Public Authority and Service Employees International
Union--United Healthcare Workers (SEIU-UHW).
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
Not Applicable.
