HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05222012 - C.57RECOMMENDATION(S):
Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a Purchase
Order with GE Healthcare, a subsidiary of General Electric Company, in the amount of $132,856.73, for an
ultrasound system with scan assistant for the Richmond Health Center.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
This new ultrasound unit/system will replace an existing unit at the Richmond Health Center which the manufacturer
has indicated/deemed “End of Life”. As equipment ages and technology advances, many parts and components
contained in older systems are no longer available or difficult to get in a timely manner. Ultrasound services are an
important part of the overall Diagnostic Imaging Services. The purchase of this new system will put the department
into a high level platform of the Logiq E9 series of ultrasound systems.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this Purchase Order is not approved, Richmond Health Center will experience an increase service call and
equipment down time which will create exam delays ultimately having a negative impact on our ability to care for
our patients.
