APPROVE Appropriations Adjustment No. 5065 authorizing the transfer of appropriations in the amount of $74,797
from Sheriff -Civil Unit (0255) to General Services - ISF Fleet Services (0064) for the purchase of a Chevrolet Tahoe
for the Civil Unit.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This action increases appropriations in General Services - ISF Fleet Services (0064) and reduces appropriations in the
Office of the Sheriff Civil unit (0255) by $74,797.
BACKGROUND:
The Sheriff's Civil Unit and the United Marshals Service will be collaborating on a project to re-establish the Contra
Costa County Warrant Services Unit (WSU) with a projected start date of July 1, 2012. The WSU will be a 24 hour
operation team with the primary mission of reducing the number of outstanding active felony warrants. The WSU will
establish a static Command Post, co-located within the Civil Unit at 920 Mellus Street in Martinez. The majority of
the day to day activities of the WSU will be field work in conjunction with the U.S. Marshall's Service, conducting
surveillance at locations and arresting wanted persons and transporting them to detention facilities.
