HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05152012 - C.56RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-975-8 with Mark Van Handel, M.D., a self-employed individual, effective May 1, 2012, to amend Contract #26-975-5 (as amended by #26-975-6 and #26-975-7), to increase the payment limit by $40,000, from $1,140,000 to a new payment limit of $1,180,000, with no change in the original term of June 1, 2009 through May 31, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: On June 2, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26–975–5 (as amended by Amendment Agreements #26-975-6 and #26-975-7) with Mark Van Handel, M.D. for the period from June 1, 2009 through May 31, 2012, for the provision of neurology services including clinic coverage, consultation, training, on-call and medical and/or surgical procedures, for patients APPROVE OTHER RECOMMENDATION OF CNTY ADMINISTRATOR RECOMMENDATION OF BOARD COMMITTEE Action of Board On: 05/15/2012 APPROVED AS RECOMMENDED OTHER Clerks Notes: VOTE OF SUPERVISORS AYE:John Gioia, District I Supervisor Mary N. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26–975–8 will allow the Contractor to provide neurology services to additional patients through May 31, 2012. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, Dr. Van Handel will not be able to provide additional neurology services to patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, as requested by the County. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
