HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05082012 - C.76RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Auditor-Controller to pay Hyatt house, in an amount not to exceed $17,000 for the Children and Family Services Bureau, Options for Recovery Program, for a retreat and specialized training event to foster parents, to be held May 10-11, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: $17,000 7.5% County, 17.5% State, 75% Prenatal Substance Abuse/HIV Infant Program (SA-HIV) allocation BACKGROUND: Contra Costa County receives an allocation from California Social Services for the Heritage Project, Options for Recovery Program. Two of the axillary services required for funding are specialized training for foster parents and relative caregivers as well as staff cross training. The cross training is for foster parents, community partners, Alcohol and Other Drug Services providers and mental health providers to prepare individuals to care for high need children. This contract with the Hyatt house will allow a venue and catered services for the Heritage Project, Options for Recovery Retreat for foster parent and specialized training to realize program goals and objectives. Provision of food and beverage during the event is allowable under the Heritage Project funding guidelines. Food is not provided to County employees as directed in Administrative Bulletin No. 614, paragraph IV. B. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Options for Recovery Retreat would not be held. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
