Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a blanket
Purchase Order with Beckman Coulter, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $915,266, for required laboratory reagents,
controls and supplies and pay the lease, meter billing and outstanding invoices needed to perform general chemistry
and immunochemistry patient testing at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Center, for
the period February 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
These reagents and supplies are used to perform routine chemistry and immunochemistry testing on patient samples
in the laboratory. Monthly billing is for various tests performed. Purchase of the supplies and reagents will be on an
as needed basis at the rates included in the agreement. This extends the existing agreement from 2005 with Beckman
coulter and combines expired Purchase Orders for the Beckman Chemistry Analyzers (DXI 800, Access 2 and 2
DXC800s).
