Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #24-723-69 with Neighborhood House of North Richmond, a non-profit corporation,
effective March 1, 2012, to amend Contract #24-723-68, to increase the payment limit by $75,874, from $298,797 to
a new payment limit of $374,671 and to increase the automatic extension payment limit by $37,938 from $149,398
to $187,336, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is funded 80% by Federal Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SAPT) Block Grant and
20% Bay Area Service Network. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing specialized substance abuse treatment
services in a residential setting so that men and women are provided an opportunity to achieve sobriety and recover
from the effects of alcohol and other

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

On August 16, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24-723-68 with Neighborhood House of North
Richmond for the period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012 which includes a six-month automatic extension
through December 31, 2012, for the provision of substance abuse residential treatment and detoxification services.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #24-723-69 will allow the Contractor to provide an additional
substance abuse treatment and detoxification services through June 30, 2012.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, County residents will not receive additional substance abuse residential treatment
and detoxification services provided by this contractor.
