HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05082012 - C.66RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Extension Agreement #74-426-1 with The Regents of the University of California, San Francisco, a government agency, to extend the term from April 30, 2012 through July 31, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: None, there is no change in the contract payment limit of $7,000. This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Workforce Education and Training. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: On September 13, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-426, with The Regents of the University of California, San Francisco, for the period from May 1, 2011 through April 30, 2012, for the provision of training for the Mental Health Division staff with regard to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for adolescents, including theoretical underpinnings of DBT, the Biosocial Theory of Borderline Personality Disorder, strategies for working with clients in APPROVE OTHER RECOMMENDATION OF CNTY ADMINISTRATOR RECOMMENDATION OF BOARD COMMITTEE Action of Board On: 05/08/2012 APPROVED AS RECOMMENDED OTHER Clerks Notes: VOTE OF SUPERVISORS AYE:John Gioia, District I Supervisor Mary N. This Extension Agreement includes a continuation of the modifications of County’s General Conditions: Paragraph 15. (Conflict of Interest), Paragraph 19. (Insurance), Paragraph 25. (Copyrights and Rights in Data) and Paragraph 18. (Indemnification) to mutually indemnify both parties for any claims arising out of the performance of this Contract. Approval of Contract Extension Agreement #74-426-1 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through July 31, 2012. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this extension is not approved, Contractor will not have time to adequately complete the specialized training of County Mental Health Staff.
