HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05082012 - C.32RECOMMENDATION(S):
Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21082 to cancel vacant Clinical Psychologist position #8696 and add one
Mental Health Clinical Specialist position (VQSB) at salary level QT2 1384 ($4333.51 - 6433.13) in the Health
Services Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $41,998, including pension costs of $10,142,
and will be fully funded by Medi-Cal.
BACKGROUND:
A Cinical Psychologist position was recently vacated due to a retirement and the Health Services Department would
like to cancel that position and add a Mental Health Clinical Specialist position. This new position would be
responsible for providing outpatient mental health services to clients and families in East County communities.
Currently, staffing is not adequate to serve the needs of all clients and many clients must be placed on a waiting list.
The addition of this position would give the Department sufficient staff to provide the necessary mental health
services.
