BACKGROUND: The Contra Costa County Mental Health Commission was established by order of the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors on June 22, 1993, pursuant to the Welfare & Institutions Code 5604, also known as the Bronzan-McCorquodale Act, Stats. 1992, c. 1374 (A.B. 14). Uilkema, District II Supervisor Date:May 8, 2012 Contra Costa County Subject:APPOINT TO THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY MENTAL HEALTH COMMISSION BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) and to the Mental Health Division and its staff. Commissioners are appointed by members of the County Board of Supervisors from each of the five districts for a term of three years. Each district has a consumer of mental health services, family member and an at-large representative on the Commission, for a total of 15 members plus a representative from the Board of Supervisors. Due to redistricting, Ms. Kennedy is now a resident of District II, therefore she has resigned from the District III Member At Large Seat so that she may be appointed to the District II Member At Large Seat. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The District II Member At Large Seat will remain vacant. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
