FROM: PHIL BATCHELOR, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
DATE: FEBRUARY 25, 1986
SUBJECT: PLEASANT HILL BART STATION AREA, STORM DRAIN AND SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS
Specific Requests or Recommendation s ' 8 Background b Justification
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve a Contingency fund increase of $80,000 and authorize Contract Change Order
No. 11 in the amount of $70,948.43 for the Pleasant Hill BART Station Area, Storm
Drain and Sanitary Sewer, Project No. 7891-6X5548-85.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The increase in the Contingency Fund provides payment for work to be performed by the
project contractor Peter Cole Jensen, Inc. ..The work is included in the Agency's
project plan but not originally included in this contract. The funds are available
from Assessment District 1983-1.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
On March 12, 1985 the Agency awarded a contract to Peter Cole Jensen, Inc. of Danville
to install storm drains and sanitary sewer's in the Pleasant Hill BART Station Project
area. During the course of construction, additional work was required to relocate
utilities to preserve utility service and access to existing homes in the area which
were previously anticipated to be vacated. During the work there were also changes
in the quantities called for in the Engineer's estimate. Contract Change Order No. 11
authorizes the changes in the quantities and also the modification of the work
previously contained in the contract documents. The increase, in the Contingency Fund
provides for the payment of those changes.
