Subject:Amending the Knightsen Town Advisory Council Establishing Resolution
Effective January 1,
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
2006, the Community Services District law expressly contemplates that members of a
CSD Board of Directors may serve on a Municipal Advisory Council and that the offices
of Director and Council member are not incompatible. (Gov. Code § 61040 (d).)
For the period of January 1, 2011 through June 30, 2011, the members of the Knightsen
Community Services District (CSD) Board of Directors served as the members of the
Knightsen TAC. They have expressed interest in continuing to serve as the members of
the Knightsen TAC for an additional six month period, from July 1, 2011, to December
31, 2011 and this action is supported by the District III Supervisor.
Therefore, Resolution 2011/288 would make the following change to the Knightsen TAC
establishing resolution.
• The “Term of Office” provision would be amended to specify that a TAC Member’s
term shall be six months, July 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The members of the Knightsen Community Services District (CSD) Board of Directors
will be unable to serve as the members of the Knightsen TAC beyond June 30, 2011.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
Not Applicable.
