Approve and Authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department,
to amend Purchase Order with Beckman Coulter, Inc., effective May 15, 2011, to add funds
in the amount of $307,000 for a new total of $1,961,508.64, for the purchase of required
reagents and supplies to perform routine chemistry testing for Contra Costa Regional
Medical Center and Health Centers, from December 1, 2005 through November 30, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
These reagents and supplies are used to perform routine chemistry testing on patient
samples in the Laboratory. Monthly billing is for various tests done and replenishment of
supplies. Purchase of supplies and reagents are on need basis. Additional funds are needed
due to higher than anticipated laboratory test volumes. Rates are included in the Agreement.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The CCRMC Clinical Laboratory will not be able to perform patient testing without the
