HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04242012 - C.68RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Risk Manager to execute a contract amendment with Essential Staffing, Inc. to
increase the payment limit by $100,000 to a new payment limit of $633,338 for workers' compensation staffing
services during the term of July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Costs for workers' compensation claims administration services are funded through the Workers' Compensation
Self-Insurance Trust Fund.
BACKGROUND:
Risk Management entered into contract with Essential Staffing, Inc., to provide expert temporary staff specializing in
workers' compensation claims services.
Subsequently, Risk Management had retirements of two claims adjusters, one claims supervisor and three clerical
staff. Therefore, Essential Staffing provided additional temporary staff to cover caseloads handled by some of the
retired permanent employees, which was an immediate need.
