Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#27-798-1 with Sharlene R. Speights, MFT, a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $150,000, to
provide professional outpatient psychotherapy services for the Contra Costa Health Plan for the period from May 1,
2012 through April 30, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan (Health Plan) member premiums. Costs depend upon
utilization. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
The Health Plan has an obligation to provide certain specialized professional health care services for its members
under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County. In May 2010, the
County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #27-798 with Sharlene R.
Speights, MFT, for the period from May 1, 2010 through April 30, 2012, to provide outpatient psychotherapy
services. Approval of Contract #27-798-1 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide outpatient psychotherapy
services through April 30, 2014.
