HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04242012 - C.22RECOMMENDATION(S): RECEIVE this report concerning the final settlement of Jonathan Herrera and AUTHORIZE payment from the Medical Malpractice Internal Service Fund in an amount of $275,000. FISCAL IMPACT: Medical Malpractice Internal Service Fund payment of $275,000. BACKGROUND: Attorney W. David Walker, defense counsel for the County, has advised the County Administrator that within authorization an agreement has been reached settling the medical malpractice claim of Herrera v. Contra Costa County. The Board's April 3, 2012, closed session vote was: Supervisors Gioia, Piepho, Mitchoff and Glover – Yes; Supervisor Uilkema - Absent. This action is taken so that the terms of this final settlement and the earlier April 3, 2012, closed session vote of this Board authorizing its negotiated settlement are known publicly. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Case will not be settled.
