1) APPROVE recommendations of the Fish and Wildlife Committee, as reviewed and
approved by the Internal Operations Committee, regarding the awarding of grants from the
Fish and Wildlife Propagation Fund;
2) DIRECT the Auditor/Controller to release a total of $50,645 from the Fish and Wildlife
Propagation Fund to the organizations outlined in Attachment A to support ten (10) projects
benefiting the fish and wildlife resources of the County.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$50,645, 100% Fish and Wildlife Propagation Fund. A portion of the fines collected from
violations of fish and game regulations in the County is deposited in the Fish and Wildlife
Propagation Fund, which as of February 8, 2012, had a balance of $116,673. State law
defines how money in this fund may be spent, but the Board of Supervisors is responsible
for authorizing specific expenditures. The projects recommended to receive funding are
consistent with the expenditure criteria established by State Law.

Subject:APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS FROM THE FISH AND WILDLIFE PROPAGATION FUND TO
SUPPORT PROJECTS THAT BENEFIT FISH AND WILDLIFE IN CONTRA COSTA COUNTY
BACKGROUND:
On April 9, 2012, the Internal Operations Committee considered and approved
recommendations from the Fish and Wildlife Committee for allocation of Fish and
Wildlife Propagation funds. The recommendation includes funding for ten (10) projects
totaling $50,645 that demonstrate a significant benefit to the fish and wildlife resources
of Contra Costa County. A description of the specific recommendations and award
conditions of the recommended awards are provided in Attachment A.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Projects benefiting fish and wildlife resources in Contra Costa County would not receive
grant funding.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact.
