HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04172012 - C.49RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Probation Officer, or designee, to execute a contract including modified indemnification language with the University of Cincinnati in an amount not to exceed $18,000 to provide Effective Practices in Community Supervision (EPICS) training during the period May 15-17, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: The $18,000 cost of the three day training will be funded with funds received as part of realignment AB109. BACKGROUND: The University of Cincinnati will conduct Effective Practices in Community Supervision (EPICS) training to thirty Probation Department staff members over the period of May 15-17, 2012. The language on the County's standard short form contract for indemnification (form S-1, item 15) has been modified at the request of the Contractor. According to the State of Ohio, the University of Cincinnati is not permitted to indemnify or hold harmless its contracting partners. The contract was amended to hold the Contractor responsible for the acts and omissions of its employees and agents.
