Subject:Standard Agreement (Amendments) #29-765-32 and #29-765-33 with the State of California, Managed Risk
Medical Insurance Board
FISCAL IMPACT:
These Agreements will provide a total combined increase in revenue of $560,979 from the
State of California, Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board, for the AIM Program and State
Supported Services Program, through December 31, 2013. No County match is required.
BACKGROUND:
The County has participated in the State-funded AIM Program since January 1992. This
Program provides increased access to maternity, delivery and infant care services for low
income women who have neither Medi-Cal nor private health insurance coverage.
Under the Agreement, the Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) provides comprehensive
medical care during a woman's pregnancy and delivery, and for sixty days post-partum. The
AIM Program also provides comprehensive medical care to the baby during their first two
years of life.
Approval of Standard Agreement (Amendments) #29-765-32 and #29-765-33 will add
funding to allow CCHP to continue participating and providing support services in the AIM
Program, through December 31, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, mothers will not receive comprehensive medical care during
their pregnancy and delivery or during their sixty days post-partum. Infants and toddlers
will not receive medical care during their first two years of life.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
Not applicable.
