Piepho, District III Supervisor Date:April 3, 2012 Contra Costa County Subject:APPOINTMENT TO THE FISH AND WILDLIFE COMMITTEE BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) of Supervisors on fish and wildlife issues that may affect the County. It makes recommendations to the Board for the expenditure of funds from the Fish and Wildlife Propagation Fund pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 13103. It addresses issues surrounding the enforcement of fish and game laws and regulations in the County. The Fish and Wildlife Committee has ten regular positions, five nominated by individual members of the Board of Supervisors, four “At-Large” positions and one “Alternate to At-Large” position nominated by the Internal Operations Committee of the Board of Supervisors. The Internal Operations Committee considers applications from all interested individuals even when an existing At-Large member or an existing Alternate to At-Large member seeks reappointment. The Internal Operations Committee requests recommendations from the Fish and Wildlife Committee on appointments to At-Large and Alternate to At-Large positions. This seat was vacated on September 13, 2011. Applications were accepted and the recommendation to appoint the above individual was then determined. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The seat will remain unfilled. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
