Approve and authorize the Health Services Director or his designee, to execute, on behalf of
the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #23-398-6 with RHD Healthcare Consulting,
Inc, a corporation, effective March 1, 2012, to modify the payment provisions to reflect the
intent of the parties, with no change to the payment limit of $159,316 and no change to the
original term of October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for this amendment is included in the Health Services Department's Enterprise
Fund I. This amendment reflects a change in the payment provisions in which the parties
have agreed to eliminate the expenses, thereby allocating the total expense amount of
$10,000 to the monthly rate for additional hours of services.
BACKGROUND:
On October 4, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #23-398-5 with RHD
Healthcare Consulting, Inc., to provide professional consultation and technical assistance to
the Health Services Director with regard to compliance of Medicare and Medi-Cal rules and
regulations

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
covering reimbursement for patient services, including guidelines related to fraud and abuse,
and to ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations, for the period from October 1,
2011 through September 30, 201.
Approval of Contract #23-398-6 will modify the Payment Provisions to eliminate the
expense amount as agreed upon by the parties, thereby allowing the Contractor to provide
additional hours of services through September 30, 2012.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved the County will not be able to continue compliance of
Medicare and Medi-Cal rules and regulations covering reimbursement for patient services
from this vendor.
